About Me

Dedicated to Design & Accessibility

Hi, I’m Michelle, a UI Designer focused on creating accessible and user-friendly web experiences.

Professional Journey

I have served as a Senior Producer and UI Designer at Pixelmongers, an Oklahoma-based agency, for over five years. In this role, I provide layout and design direction, as well as assist clients with website maintenance and content management. Currently, I am focused on honing my design skills for usability and accessibility, paying close attention to detail as I strive to tackle complex projects with precision.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked on numerous non-profit, commercial, higher-ed, and state projects that require a deep understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). These guidelines cover various topics, such as text alternatives for non-text content, keyboard accessibility, and color contrast. As a UI designer, I strive to meet or exceed these standards to help make the web a more inclusive online environment.

I have won several ADDY awards and exhibited my past work in illustration and fine art at various venues, including DC on Film Row and the Milton Gallery. Additionally, I hold a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Central Oklahoma.

In my free time, I enjoy tour cycling, science fiction, and gaming.

My Philosophy

Design is about creating experiences that everyone can use. I prioritize accessibility, ensuring my work meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) by considering text alternatives, keyboard accessibility, and color contrast. My focus on accessibility aims to create designs that are functional and usable for all.
